FAQs

Q?I’m building a new house. Do I need an HRV?
A.

The answer to this is, it depends on the district. In the Lower Mainland of BC only the district of Vancouver requires new homes to have an HRV system. All other districts do not require it at this time, although it is under review in several.

Saying this, we do highly recommend this as part of any new home. HRVs, when installed correctly, provide the entire house with fresh air while exhausting out stale air. During this process the heat from the exhaust air is transferred to the fresh air coming in. This saves a significant amount in heating costs that is otherwise wasted.

Q?I am replacing my furnace. What size and efficiency should I get?

This is no one answer to this question.  There are many variables that go into sizing a new furnace for a home.
